With the holiday season upon us it’s nice to see our fellow Bahamian brothers and sisters coming together for a worth cause.
With the heart ache and feeling of dread that so many are facing with the recent spike in crime this feel good initiative is one that we can all look forward to this month.
We got to ask a few brief questions to one of the members of this charity organization and think they’re really worth your time and help.
Founded by different media groups, their purpose a is noble and common one. Read the flyer and other information listed below and should you choose to want to be apart of or to donate to this worthy cause this season you can contact Ras Deniro Thompson at the contacts listed below.
What made you guys collectively pool your resources to venture into this form of volunteering?
Ras Deniro: Well not only was The Bilney Lane Children’s Home my favorite volunteer spot in High School, but we realized that it’s the most neglected of all orphanages in The Bahamas and we decided that we would help them. They are the most forgotten ones in society at that particular children’s home.
If people wanted to donate time, funds or resources how could they get in contact with any one of you?
Ras Deniro: They can contact me via email ( firstname.lastname@example.org) or via social media (@rasdeniro)
As the year is drawing to a close are there any events planned this year or for 2015 that you’d like the public to know about?
Ras Deniro: We have a major gift giving exercise on December 20th and 21st for the home (Bilney Lane Children’s Home) and for FOAM (Families Of Murder Victims) and in the future we expect to partner more with FOAM and their initiatives.
