Now in it’s 3rd year of production and cultivation of aspiring fashion designers and visual artist, event organizers Mr. Kedar Clarke of “Kedar In Style” and Mr. Nik Barnes and Mr. Scharad Lightbourne of Stylezine Magazine, are excited to introduce The Bahamas to their top picks for the “Fash|Art 2013 Cast”. The event “Fash|Art” is an exciting platform which aims to uncover Bahamian talents, present them with the opportunity to launch their careers and groom them into tomorrow’s top creative minds. Prior to the “grand finale”, two-day event on November 1 & 2, 2013 at Jacaranda House, “The Cast” are required to attend a month-long “Seminar Series”, sponsored by Scotia Bank Bahamas and the NAGB, focusing on Branding & Marketing, Business, Merchandising and Mentorship.

This year’s cast of 13 diverse and entrepreneur-focused artisans were selected from Abaco, Grand Bahama and New Providence. “The Cast” competing for cash prizes and the coveted awards in their respective categories, range from age 18-35. Vying for the “Harl Taylor Emerging Fashion Designer” award includes; Kristen Cartwright, Rebecca Johnson, Dandria Bethel, Richie Shepherd (not pictured), Alisa Watson and Olivia Russell. The participants vying for the “Jackson Burnside Emerging Visual Artist” award include; Eulys Smith, Shawn Hanna, Lauren Glinton (not pictured), Zyandric Jones, Katherine Rolle (not pictured), Dominique Delancey and John Damas.

“This year’s event is all about a ‘Gatsby-style’ celebration; 1 opulent venue, 2 extravagant party nights and 13 talented, rising stars!”, says event creator/co-producer, Kedar Clarke. He goes on to explain; “We are hosting the two-night event at the infamous Jacaranda House, which will feature an art exhibit featuring our emerging artist, popup fashion boutiques, a silent auction benefiting “The Aids Foundation”, open bars by Absolut Vodka, a fashion installation by Harl Taylor BAG and “Mission Catwalk” runner-up designer David Rolle, runway shows over the pool top featuring our emerging designers, live entertainment from Willis & The Illest, DJ’s and all-night after parties on property!”.

The “big nights” are slated for November 1 & 2, 2013, beginning at 7pm nightly at Jacaranda House (a private estate opposite the main post office on East Hill and Parliament Streets). Ticket go on sale Oct 28th, 2013 at Fine Threads (Mackey St. and South West Plaza ONLY) and will be $25 for Night 1: “Cocktails, Canvas & Couture” and $35/$75 (VIP Seating) for Night 2: “FashionNEXT”.
