Red carpet fashion, humanitarianism and Bahamians collided in what will be one of the most talked about events of the year!
The Bahamian Icon Awards, a movement started by Addis Huyler and a team of Bahamians who believed there was no time like the present to begin to praise and encourage
those that shed a positive light on our nation.
They attempted to cover all aspects of Bahamian society, culture and entertainment; doing so in such a marvelous fashion.
Nominees, guests and presenters all took the the red carpet in fashions from international and local designers.
Most noted were pieces from Bahamian fashion designers, David Rolle & Theodore Elyett. These designers just competed and placed 1st and 2nd in Jamaica’s design competition, Mission Catwalk.
Bahamian entertainers in attendance included: Sketch, Novie, D Mac (who won), Matthew Wildgoose, Rik Carey, Sosa Man, Dyson Knight, Tracy Ann Perpall and Joan Callender.
It was truly a night of celebrating. With ‘icons’ being awarded in everything from entrepreneurship to entertainment. We are sure next year’s award ceremonies will be even more dynamic than this one!
