Raindrop Records has been around since about 2008, increasing their artist roster and along with it the amount of work they pushed out. With the loss of their former CEO and founder Richard “Liquid” Sands, one would think they just might hit a little rut, but that thought would be wrong. Since Liquid’s untimely passing, the Raindrop team has been working to get out what Liquid left behind along with new and up to date material of their own. That said, Raindrop’s artists of the fairer sex banded together as “Les Femme De RainDrop” to divvy up a a track and video titled “The Cypher”. Artists Ambria, Meanna Juke, Baby Star & Ai Kaimu hit the verses of this boom-bap feeling track, while Shelly Bee & Melody (of the duo Symphoni) drop the hook and advise “Tell ’em to look out for Raindrop”.
The all black and white video, shot & directed by Interesting Developments shows you just who the artists are that you might’ve heard but never seen. Check it out above and you can check out the extended version of Les Femme De RainDrop’s “The Cypher” below, which features a verse from the teams own VVS and is also available for download. Let us know what you guys think of the track and video in the comments or on our facebook/twitter page and we’ll keep you posted on any other developments with Raindrop Record. Peace…& #PlayItForward
